Summer is almost to its end, but the group is not slowing down. This week there are a few updates about ongoing projects, news on social activities, and finally a few goodbyes to those who had to leave the program early.
Van has made substantial progress on creating the LED light display that will soon go up into one of the conference rooms. Van’s project includes carefully connecting the light strips and programming them to display different colors and patterns. The next step for them and this project is attaching even more light strips and hooking it up to a board for display.
With the help of the whole intern group, the dashboard display of the vital matrix project went live in the sales lounge. During lunch, team members gathered together to watch the different charts circulate on the TV. The interns got feedback from their peers and implemented the suggestions for improved user experience. The next step is to set up the dashboard to display on multiple other TVs throughout the Turbine Flats building.
On Wednesday night, ISoft rented out a movie theater to watch Ice Pirates, which is considered a “must watch” for newcomers into the company. There was pizza and soft drinks provided for dinner. Everyone had a great time watching the 80’s Sci Fi film and socializing over pizza.
On Friday afternoon, the intern group had a meeting with Alex, the founder of fyi.io. They got to learn firsthand about how to form a business. The group got to ask questions relating to the product, advice on quality resources for growth, and future business plans. It was a very informative and interesting session for those aspiring to start their own business in the future or trying to learn about different industries.
On the same evening after the all company meeting, the group headed to celebrate Reactor coffee shop one year anniversary. Reactor is loved by everyone at the flats, from coffee club on Friday morning to the paninis and soup on Wednesdays! Coffee club brings ISoft together with free coffee and doughnuts to start off the morning.
Lastly, the company gathered to thank Ray and Saket for their contributions this summer and wish them best of luck as they launch into the work with freshly obtained knowledge about the world of development.
